Naperville's Neuqua Valley travelled to the other side of town to face the Redhawks of Naperville Central.

The Wildcats came out ready to play and scored first. A short time later, they scored again.

The Redhawks had several quality shots in the first half, but Neuqua keeper Elizabeth Fried kept the score 2-0 through half time.

In the second half both teams moved the ball effectively. With under twenty minutes to play in the game, Central began to push the pace and finally put a ball in the net. Nicole Smith arced a shot over Fried to pull the Redhawks within one.

The Redhawks kept up the pressure, and for a moment it looked like Emerson Burke (20) evened the score.

But the goal was not to be. The ball was ruled to be in Fried's control.

The Wildcats headed home with a 2-1 victory.

The fast pace of play made for an exciting game, and intrigue of a call will likely make a meeting between these two teams at the end of the season even more exciting.
